This contemporary home located in an exclusive Sydney suburb is the very essence of an opulent lifestyle with its modern and streamlined design competing with expansive views across the Sydney Harbour.
Designed by Vic Lake Architects, the modern home features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, together with multiple terraces and alfresco areas as well as a number of multifunctional living spaces. Situated on a relatively small block of just over 565 square metres, the home needed to be designed to maximise the use of the available space. Built over three storeys, the home offers a seamless flow from floor to floor, with some areas kept separate for privacy and relaxation.
Vic Lake Architects approached the design of the home with the primary objective to create a space that was modern, streamlined and warm. To offset the exterior, which features strong visual lines, the interior was specifically designed to feel timeless and homely.
The large kitchen in the home is supplemented with a highly functional scullery and adjacent casual dining and living rooms, and features European appliances and a sleek, streamlined facade. Crisp tones of grey and white with highlights of matte black give the kitchen an immediate contemporary aesthetic while natural stone and concrete provide a softer, more welcoming appeal.
While offering a luxurious experience to the residents, the architects also carefully considered practical application and functional use of space. A Zip HydroTap Arc BC in Matte Black was specified for the kitchen to provide filtered, instant boiling and chilled water. Conveniently located on the island bench in the main kitchen, the Zip HydroTap offers ease of access and use, especially during busy entertaining or food prep times.
The Zip HydroTap Arc in matte black finish complements the black accents used throughout the home including the kitchen.
“We chose the Zip HydroTap Arc because of its sleek aesthetic – it matches perfectly with the kitchen – but also because they are so easy to use and offer a wide range of functions that actively assist the family during busy moments,” says Mia Lake, Interior Design Director of Vic Lake Architects.
An integrated fridge was specified for the main kitchen to align with the streamlined finish of the exterior kitchen but it meant another avenue had to be found for the owners to have access to chilled water. The Zip HydroTap was the perfect solution for providing instant access to chilled and boiling water without disturbing the aesthetic of the kitchen.
