An industrial grade casino flooring system from ASP Access Floors was installed in multiple finishes and at variable heights at the iconic Crown Casino in Melbourne.

Located on the waterfront of the Southbank Promenade in the CBD, the Crown comprises of an entertainment and shopping complex as well as casino and hotel. The 510,000-square-metre Crown is the largest casino complex in the southern hemisphere and one of the largest in the world.

ASP supplied their patented and proprietary steel cementitious industrial grade casino flooring system with a 9.0KN loading for installation throughout the gaming floor and atriums to cover an area of 6450 square metres.

Completed in July 2012, the project required various floor finishes such as tiling, timber, vinyl and carpet, which dictated multiple different set-downs in the access flooring.

ASP’s specially designed 800 x 600mm sized panels were used to marry the floor against the curved façade of the building, helping achieve the vastness of the curve.

Given that the floor would have to withstand an extensive amount of service equipment, traffic and loads during its service life, ASP’s proprietary casino flooring system was utilised to achieve a seamless uniform product that was capable of handling the dynamic loads experienced on a gaming floor as well as ensure its longevity.
