Australia's greenest commercial building, The Gauge, has won the Sustainable Architecture Award at The Royal Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) Victorian Chapter Awards.

The development most recently won the inaugural Built Environment Award at the government's 2009 premier's Sustainability Awards. It is also the first building in Australia to achieve a 6-star Green Star - Office As Built v2 Certified rating from the GBCA and a 6-star Green Star - Office Design v2 Certified Rating.

The building was recognised for its commitment to an all-embracing approach to ecologically sustainable design from the design and construction process through to the occupation and ongoing operations.

The wins means that The Gauge is eligible for the Sustainable Architecture category at the AIA National Awards.

Lend Lease was also a joint winner in the Large Commercial category for The Gauge in the 2008 BPN Sustainability Awards.
