A linear trench drain system and custom anti slip grates from ACO Polycrete were specified during the upgrade of Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
Cavill Avenue is a mall lined with restaurants, bars and fast food outlets. The Gold Coast City Council ordered an extensive upgrade involving landscape works with the redesigned pavement featuring simpler grades for pedestrian safety as well as a more cost effective and efficient surface drainage system compared to pits used previously.
The Gold Coast City Council specified ACO’s KlassikDrain KS100 linear trench drain with custom stainless Wedgewire Heelsafe Antislip grates, providing a heel-friendly solution strong enough for the regular service trucks.
The drain’s proximity to the beach also required all exposed metal components to be of stainless steel construction.
Other ACO products used in this project included ACO drain systems, ACO Cablemate pit enclosures and ACO Access ductile iron cover and frame systems.
