ACO Polycrete supplied sloped grated channels and a surface ducting system to create an efficient drainage system at a Defence training facility near Brisbane.
An initiative from the Department of Defence called Enhanced Land Forces (ELF) has driven the construction of training facilities on various sites across Australia. The Greenbank Training Area, 50km from Brisbane, houses a vehicle washing facility where high pressure air and water lines are required to operate cleaning equipment.
To ensure easy maintenance and flexibility in manoeuvring nozzles around vehicles, continuous access to these services is critical. Designers also needed to ensure efficient drainage where silt and mud from the vehicle washing could be easily directed to a silt basket.
GHD specified ACO’s sloped PowerDrain with slotted iron grates and CS cable ducting system with ductile iron lids to facilitate these dual services.
