Albany Door Systems has relaunched their RapidRoll 3000 Series high security, automatic high speed rolling doors for heavy traffic commercial and industrial car parks at the DesignBUILD expo in Sydney.
National Product Manager, Andrew Bykersma said, “Albany has been more focused on the heavy industrial market and now we’re expanding into the commercial and light industrial market.
“The product has been tailored for carpark entrances with high movement, who have a concern for security.”
The company was demonstrating the automatic doors maximum opening speed of 2.5m/s in the Doors and Windows section of the building and construction expo. The RapidRoll 3000 utilises Albany’s DiscDrive technology which enables the aluminium door panel slats to roll up on winding shafts without touching each other.
“It’s been tested to 1 million cycles without any damage and no replaced parts,” Bykersma said.
The lifting belt of the high speed rolling doors system has been designed around CONTI POLYFLAT technology offering strength and durability. CONTI POLYFLAT in conjunction with DiscDrive technology allows the unit to provide smooth, quiet and fast operation with long service intervals.
The automatic high speed rolling doors have a smooth powerful start, steady acceleration and gentle braking due to the use of Albany’s frequency control converter. The control converter is based on a microprocessor control system.
The automatic doors also contain a safety feature unique to Albany, the patented pre-running photocell on the rolling doors leading closing edge.
“It has a contactless safety edge. It detects an object in its path and reverses itself automatically.
“Obviously this prevents damage and also injury,” Bykersma explained while demonstrating the rolling doors braking and movement detection capabilities.
Albany’s automatic doors come with a variety of design options including sealed double-sided aluminium slats with vision panels or transparent PVC sections, colour options, side columns, covers and pedestrian door options.
While the product has been available in some European countries, Albany are trying to relaunch in Australia.
Bykersma said, “We’ve recently installed in CBRE in North Sydney and the Walter Eliza Institute in Melbourne where they have a lot of inbound freight and outbound goods and obviously, a high concern for security.”
