The majority of Australian Architectural Hardwoods ' durable recycled timbers can be run into a decking profile.
Decking profiles range from 60mm by 19mm in pencil round spotted gum through to 220mm by 40mm in tallowwood.
Depending on the timber species, Australian Architectural Hardwoods prefer to keep a width to thickness ratio of no greater than approximately 5:1. This means that the boards will be resistant to cupping, which can be unsightly and may cause surface ponding after rain.
For full sun and rain decks, the Jarrah, Blackbutt, Ironbark, Spotted Gum and Tallowwood decking hardwoods are available.
For the semi-protected, open covered verandahs, the Karri, Brushbox, Jarrah, Blackbutt, Ironbark and Spotted Gum are optional.
The decking hardwood that will experience occasional storm rain and mostly shaded, the Bluegum, Brushbox, Karri, Ironbark, Spotted Gm, Tallowwod, Blackbutt and Jarrah are compatible hardwood styles.
