B&D Garage Doors and Openers provided a complete solution for storage lockup doors to be fitted at Kennards Self Storage’s recently completed self-storage centre in Murarrie, Brisbane.

The KSS brand with its iconic orange and blue corporate colours is proudly displayed across every storage centre. Aligned with the brand, the storage lockup door on each individual storage unit features a high-gloss orange finish. Typically, a high-gloss finish on a rolling door is achieved through rollforming the sheets, leaving the door with a perceptible curve. When viewed down a walkway, the protrusion on each door can appear quite unsightly.
B&D overcame this issue by employing the unique ‘brake press’ technology, with a rigid structural pattern stamped onto each Roll-A-Door. The door curtain remains flat, providing a clean vertical line on even the glossiest of finishes.
In addition to the clean lines, the B&D Roll-A-Door also aligns with the high operation standards Kennards sets for its consumer experience. B&D ensures these standards are maintained with the following product engineering tested standards: Helical spring operation tailored to every door size; low maintenance Nylofelt running strips; double run bottom rail roller blocks; and bottom rail guides stop tests to stringent Australian standards.
B&D’s complete solution for their Roll-A-Doors ensures peace of mind to Kennards; rest assured, the ongoing maintenance of the complex is reduced to a measurable standard that is set in place from day one.
B&D also provided a large access shutter door with automation to the loading area of the Murarrie project. The door was finished in the client’s corporate colours with the colour profile perfected matched in partnership with Dulux Powders. Utilising its one group automation solution, B&D was also able to intelligently integrate the door into the centre’s advanced access control system with ATA superior logistics.
