The recent refurbishment of the University of Wollongong Library was designed to provide greater flexibility and choice for study as well as to showcase collections.
The design by Geyer Design Services was guided by feedback received from UOW students and representatives through a process of engagement to determine the requirements for the future learning space.
Being a recognised and vital hub for learning and research, the library was reimagined based on student-centric design principles including flexibility and choice; sense of community; wellbeing and safety; equity and inclusivity; and accessibility and intuitiveness.
Maxton Fox provided learning workstations to the library where their Kontakt workstation was specified throughout, in addition to study desks and joinery.
The furniture component took only 4 weeks to manufacture and was installed by Maxton Fox’s in-house team in February 2020.
