The $123.5 million multi-award winning Tyree Energy Technologies Building (TETB) on the University of New South Wales main campus in Kensington, Sydney is the home of energy research.
Designed by FJMT and constructed by Brookfield Multiplex, the 15,000-square-metre, six-level building is used for research, education and industry collaboration in the development and practical implementation of sustainable energy technologies.
Completed in 2012, the building has teaching and learning spaces, workshops and display spaces, research spaces, including wet and dry labs, and a cafe.
The TETB received a 6 Star Green Star Design rating, awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia, making it the fourth 6 Star education facility in Australia and a first for UNSW. This accreditation represents world leadership in environmentally sustainable building and manufacturing practices.
As the lead commercial manufacturer for the TETB project, Maxton Fox delivered modular workstations, tables, seating, lecture theatre furniture and joinery, bespoke joinery, banquet seating and toilet partitions.
