Real Flame , the Australian leader in gas fireplaces, offers two new
industry support programs for the benefit of architects who support the company
throughout the year. The two incentives include the ADA Awards (Architectural
Design Awards) and a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) presentation.
The Real Flame Architectural Design Awards for Gas Fireplaces (ADA) was
created to foster innovation within the Australian design industry. Real Flame
launched the Australian Design Awards in 2014, open to all practicing and
student architects and designers within Australia.
Aiming to recognise and encourage the independent flow of creativity
within the realm of this competition, the ADA invites entries based on actual
or imagined projects. The project brief requires competitors to include the
type of fire (decorative, heating or both); the application of the fire (residential
or commercial); the internal finish (modern, contemporary or traditional); and
all the technical research such as flue and ventilation requirements,
clearances and construction constraints.
The 2014 judging panel of Michael Bialek from SJB Architects and Kendra
Pinkus from Bates Smart will once again evaluate entries in the 2015 awards.
The 2014 awards received over 300 registrations and 50 submissions.
Winners were invited to an amazing degustation dinner where they were presented
with their awards and provided the opportunity to discuss their designs with
the judges. The 2014 winners were from leading Australian architecture firms,
B.E. Architecture, +Plus Architecture and Bower Architecture.
Real Flame has also introduced a Continuing Professional Development
(CPD).Formal presentation offering architects 1.5 Formal points towards their
yearly quota to meet industry compliance requirements.
The 90-minute free presentation is available
nationally at Real Flame’s offices, and can be held in-house for larger
companies.
