SUPAWOOD acoustic SUPATILE SLAT ceiling tiles are featured widely throughout the newly renovated My Lounge, an inspiring lounge for passengers in Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal.
The aim of the client’s brief was to create an inviting and warm environment in the busy airport’s international hub, which would fiercely rival its competition among the airport’s catering points. Apart from aesthetics, key considerations for the ceiling lining included acoustic absorption, compatibility with the existing ceiling grid, ease of installation and ongoing access to the ceiling void above.
My Lounge provides relaxed social lounging through cleverly defined function zoning and offers a delicious grazing menu, self-serve bar, TV den and games room. The design is aimed at emitting the laidback ambience of a New York Loft, blending a warm, welcoming and informal look. The slatted timber ceiling complements the design perfectly.
The SUPATILE SLAT ceiling tiles have been incorporated with acoustic fabric to ensure acoustic absorption and provide aural comfort throughout the zones. The Solid Ash slats create a warm, elegant look that works superbly with the other materials used in the overall design. The slatted tiles were supplied with cut-outs already in place to allow for integrating lighting and other services; therefore, no cutting or assembling was required on site.
SUPATILE SLAT is designed to precisely integrate into an existing ceiling grid. Our unique ceiling tile system makes installation a breeze, and access is always available to the ceiling void for future maintenance work.
This project shows the versatility of SUPATILE SLAT and how it can solve complex issues while additionally presenting a simple, economical install solution.
