Woolworths has recently engaged in significant infrastructure upgrades involving entrance and security systems at two separate locations near Brisbane, with both projects emphasising enhanced security, durability, and aesthetics.
At Yeerongpilly Green, an $850 million development located 8km from Brisbane’s CBD, Woolworths serves as an anchor tenant alongside BWS. The site features a series of automatic doors including main entrance doors, a pickup door, and the primary entrance to the BWS store. ASSA ABLOY was tasked by Fitout Glass and Aluminium, under specifications provided by Woolworths, to supply, install, and commission these door systems, notably the SL500-2 ADS Intrusion Protection System, and the ADS-F door system. These doors were chosen for their ability to handle high traffic with minimal maintenance due to their durable design, which includes 9.52mm security laminated safety glass and mechanisms that prevent excessive wear.
Similarly, at Chermside Market Shopping Centre, located 15 minutes from the CBD and featuring Woolworths and TK Maxx as anchor tenants, Woolworths initiated a security enhancement for its main entrance. The refurbishment replaced older units with ASSA ABLOY’s SL500 automatic sliding door operator and ADS Intrusion Protection door systems, known for their robust security features including advanced tri-locking mechanisms that prevent forced entry and ensure maximum protection.
Both locations emphasise a design that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal, ensuring the entrances are not only secure but also contribute to the contemporary look of the buildings. The entrance systems at both sites are designed to offer wide clear openings, eliminate potential trap points for safety, and provide a visually appealing interface consistent with modern architectural trends. This strategic upgrade across different locations underscores Woolworths' commitment to maintaining a secure, accessible, and visually appealing shopping environment for its customers.
