Global packaging and paper company Mondi AG, Austria sought an entrance solution for their Vienna office that could cope with heavy pedestrian traffic, without letting too much energy go to waste. A revolving door with integrated air curtains from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems solved their problem.
Mondi's office building in Vienna used to have a 2-leaf sliding door system at their main entrance. However, high staff and visitor traffic meant the door was left open for long periods of the day, which resulted in high energy loss and a poor working environment in the entrance area.
Since local regulations didn’t allow entrances to extend outside the building, the solution needed to be on the inside and integrated into the façade. It also needed to handle a high number of people while also allowing possible integration with the existing access control system.
ASSA ABLOY’s Besam UniTurn revolving door helped solve the problem for Mondi.
The ASSA ABLOY UniTurn with air curtains helped reduce energy consumption, and thereby the cost significantly, and simultaneously improved the control of the stream of visitors.
